Wild Nothing’s third full length release and another piece of awesome dreamy melodic indie rock. This deluxe limited edition was on white vinyl with a fancy 3D lenticular cover (kinda hard to show in the photos). Highly recommended stuff, the previous album, Nocturne, was amazing too!

Possessed’s third and final release, the Eyes of Horror EP, repressed by High Roller Records for 2015. The end of a career by a groundbreaking band and all the nicer for tasty clear and red splatter vinyl.

A2: My Belief
A3: The Eyes Of Horror
B1: Swing Of The Axe
B2: Storm In My Mind

First time on vinyl for this soundtrack to a film that doesn’t exist from Low, originally called Travels in Constants (Vol. 9): The Exit Papers. 16 years after it came out on CD only, this has been pressed up on limited brown vinyl (500 copies) via Temporary Residence. Pretty experimental stuff and quite different from the rest of the band’s output, well worth checking for fans of the band who want to hear something a bit more minimal.

A second outing on wax from the Relapse band with more than a passing nod to Death classics. Their previous album hinted at Leprosy-era material while this EP mimics the dulcet tones of the Chuck and the gang’s debut, Scream Bloody Gore. Proper good stuff and, as usual from the Relapse camp, some superb splatter vinyl to look at. This press limited to 300.

A1: Forces Of Death

Has to be up there with the prettiest pieces of vinyl we’ve ever had on 12 Inch, what a beautiful piece of wax. Amazing album as well if you’re into space age, experimental rock with a funky edge. Released on Company, a label headed up by Toro Y Moi they’ve put out some cool stuff. Highly recommended that you pick this one up, if only to have something this awesome looking in your collection.

Baroness’s second LP, Blue, repressed for 2015 by Relapse on Orange Krush / Royal Blue merge vinyl. The colours have created a weird effect on the record, almost looks like they didn’t mix properly. Definitely one of the strange looking pieces of wax I’ve come across! This one was limited to 100 copies.

Awesome shaped picture disc featuring the classic Anthrax logo. As far as I remember this was one of the first tunes to kick of the rap / metal crossover. Not totally sure how I feel about that.

Never a band to take themselves too seriously Anthrax brought a jokey Beastie Boys vibe to the track, which kinda works. Most bands that tried this after ended up sounding like Vanilla Ice with guitars.
